1 Scope and Acceptance
These terms (the "Agreement") govern each GAISB credential (the "Credential") and your status as a candidate for, or holder of, that Credential ("you"). The Agreement applies to the entire GAISB family of credentials and works together with the GAISB™ Code of Professional Conduct, any credential-specific requirements, and any badge or logo terms GAISB publishes. By checking the acceptance box, registering for or sitting a GAISB examination, or earning, holding, or using a Credential, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not proceed with the examination and do not use the Credential.
2 What the Credential Is
Each GAISB credential is a private professional certification issued under the standards and authority of the Global AI Standards Body (GAISB™), a vendor-neutral, practitioner-governed standards organization. A Credential recognizes that you have met the published requirements for that credential, which may include curriculum, a proctored examination, and, for certain credentials, an applied capstone reviewed by a panel. The Credential certifies what you have demonstrated against the published standard. It says nothing about the quality, outcome, or compliance of any specific work you later perform for any client or employer.
3 What the Credential Is Not
The Credential is not, and must never be represented as:
- an occupational license, regulatory authorization, or practice permit;
- a government, regulatory, or accreditation-body approval of any kind;
- an ISO/IEC 17024-accredited credential (GAISB programs are designed with reference to recognized personnel-certification principles, but are not presently accredited);
- a guarantee of income, clients, employment, business results, or any particular outcome;
- a warranty, certification, or endorsement of any work you perform for any client; or
- evidence of any employment, agency, partnership, or representation relationship with GAISB or its delivery partners.
GAISB™ is a private professional standards organization. It is not a government agency, regulator, or accreditation body.
4 Issuing Authority and Governance
GAISB credentials are issued under the authority and standards of GAISB™ and are governed by the GAISB™ Standards Council. Credential programs are delivered through GAISB's official routes and community, including Prompt Atlas and authorized training partners. The GAISB™ and GAISB™ names, marks, examination blueprints, and the Common Body of Knowledge are the property of GAISB™. Each Credential is issued exclusively through its official route; no third party is authorized to issue, grant, or represent a GAISB credential. Every Credential is recorded in the GAISB Public Verification Registry and is independently verifiable at registry.gaisb.org.
5 Examination Rules and Candidate Integrity
A GAISB credential is respected because it is earned honestly. When you register for and sit any GAISB examination, you agree that you will:
- complete the examination entirely on your own, with no assistance from any other person;
- use no external resources, notes, printed or digital material, secondary devices, or AI tools, except any resource the examination expressly permits;
- remain on the examination screen for the duration of the session and not switch windows or tabs, open other applications, or move away from your device once the examination has begun;
- complete the examination in a single sitting within the allotted time once started; and
- make no attempt to obtain, use, or provide unauthorized access to examination content or answers.
You acknowledge that any breach of these rules, or any conduct the proctoring process reasonably flags as a breach, may result in your result being voided, in which case you may be required to re-sit the examination at your own cost, and may result in suspension of your eligibility for current or future GAISB examinations and credentials.
6 Remote Proctoring and Monitoring Consent
GAISB examinations are delivered online and may be monitored by automated (AI) proctoring and, where applicable, human review. Where a GAISB examination uses proctoring, you consent to the collection and processing of proctoring signals for the duration of your session, which may include your camera image, microphone audio, screen activity, browser focus and tab activity, device and network information, and related metadata. You agree that you will present a suitable testing environment, and you understand that proctoring data may be recorded, analyzed, and reviewed against the GAISB™ integrity policy. Potential integrity flags may be reviewed by GAISB or its authorized proctoring provider before a result is confirmed. If you do not consent to proctoring where it is required, you will be unable to sit the examination.
7 Examination Confidentiality and Security
All GAISB examination content, including questions, answer options, case studies, scenarios, and scoring materials, is the confidential intellectual property of GAISB™. You agree that you will not copy, photograph, screen-capture, record, transcribe, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, or disclose any examination content, in whole or in part, and that you will not attempt to reconstruct or memorize items for the benefit of any other person. This obligation continues after your examination and after your Credential is issued, lapses, or is revoked. Breach of this section is a material breach of this Agreement and may result in a voided result, revocation, permanent disqualification, and any remedy available at law.
8 Identity Verification
You agree that you are the person registered to sit the examination and that you will not permit any other person to sit it in your place or hold yourself out as another candidate. You agree to keep a valid government-issued photo identification available and to complete any identity-verification step required at check-in. Misrepresentation of identity voids the result and may result in permanent disqualification.
9 Results, Attempts and Retakes
Your score is calculated against the published passing standard for the specific credential, which varies by credential. Attempt limits, retake availability, waiting periods, and any retake or voucher fees are set out in the published requirements for each credential and may be updated from time to time. A failed attempt, a voided result, or a forfeited sitting does not entitle you to a refund except as expressly stated in the applicable enrollment terms. Passing an examination is one requirement of a Credential; where a credential also requires an applied capstone or other component, the Credential is awarded only when all requirements are met and you have accepted this Agreement.
10 Data Protection and Privacy
To deliver, score, verify, and govern your Credential, GAISB™ and its authorized partners collect and process personal information, which may include your name, contact details, identity-verification data, examination responses and results, proctoring data described in Section 6, and credential and renewal records. This information is used to administer the examination, verify identity, uphold examination integrity, issue and maintain your Credential, and publish the verifiable credential record. Your name and credential status are published in the GAISB Public Verification Registry as a citable record of certification. GAISB retains records for as long as necessary to administer the credential and meet its governance and legal obligations. GAISB does not sell your personal information. Processing is carried out in accordance with the GAISB privacy practices published at gaisb.org; where those practices and this Agreement differ on a data matter, the published privacy practices govern.
11 Code of Professional Conduct
Every GAISB holder is bound by the GAISB™ Code of Professional Conduct and its canons, including integrity and honesty, protecting the public interest, practicing within competence, maintaining confidentiality and data protection, avoiding harm and unjust discrimination, advancing the profession, and maintaining current competence. Alleged violations are handled through GAISB's documented due process, with a right of appeal, and sanctions ranging from reprimand through suspension to revocation are recorded on the Public Verification Registry. You agree to be bound by the Code as a condition of earning and holding any GAISB credential.
12 How You May Describe Yourself
While your Credential is in good standing, you may accurately describe yourself as holding that Credential (for example, "GAISB AI Essentials" or "GAISB AI Practitioner"). You must not: describe yourself as "certified by," "endorsed by," "partnered with," or "representing" GAISB or its partners in a way that implies a relationship beyond holding the Credential; claim a tier, specialty, status, or recognition you do not hold; imply that your services, deliverables, or results are guaranteed, approved, or backed by GAISB; or imply that the Credential is a license, accreditation, or government authorization.
13 Badge and Logo Use
If GAISB issues you a digital badge or credential mark (the "Badge"), you are granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to display it solely to indicate that you personally hold the Credential in good standing. You must use only the official Badge artwork without alteration, display it only while your Credential is active, present it truthfully, and not use the Badge or any GAISB name as part of a company name, product name, domain, logo, handle, or trademark, or in any way that implies endorsement, partnership, or joint branding. Your right to use the Badge ends automatically if your Credential lapses, is suspended, or is revoked, or if you breach this Agreement, at which point you must promptly remove it from every place within your control.
14 Good Standing, Renewal, Suspension and Revocation
Each Credential is personal to you and non-transferable. Your right to use the Credential, its title, and any Badge depends on remaining in good standing, which includes completing any required continuing professional education and renewal (GAISB credentials renew on the published cycle). GAISB may suspend or revoke a Credential for breach of this Agreement, the Code of Professional Conduct, or the examination rules, or for misrepresentation, through its published process. If your Credential lapses, is suspended, or is revoked, you must immediately stop describing yourself as holding it and stop all use of the title and Badge.
15 Independence
Holding a Credential makes you an independent professional and nothing more. It does not create any employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, franchise, or representation relationship between you and GAISB or its delivery partners. You may not act, contract, speak, or hold yourself out as acting on behalf of, or as authorized by, GAISB. Any service you provide to a client is solely between you and that client; GAISB is not a party to, and has no responsibility or liability for, your engagements, advice, deployments, results, or outcomes.
16 Intellectual Property
The GAISB™ and GAISB™ names, marks, seals, badges, the Common Body of Knowledge, examination blueprints, examinations, and all related content are the exclusive intellectual property of GAISB™ or its respective owners. Any program materials made available to you are licensed to you on a single-user, non-transferable basis for your own learning and professional practice. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, republish, sublicense, share, or publicly post examination content or program materials, and you may not use them to create or deliver a competing course, training, or certification. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
17 No Warranties and No Guarantee of Outcomes
The Credential, the examinations, and all related materials are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. No statement, figure, or example anywhere in a GAISB program or examination is a promise of earnings, employment, or results.
18 Limitation of Liability and Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GAISB™ and its delivery partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business, arising out of or related to the Credential, the Badge, the examinations, or your use of any of them. Their total aggregate liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to sit the applicable examination. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GAISB™ and its delivery partners from any claim arising out of your work, your representations, or your use of the Credential or Badge.
19 Changes, Severability, Governing Law and Contact
GAISB™ may update this Agreement at any time, with the current version published at this location. Continued participation in a GAISB examination or continued use of a Credential after a change means you accept the updated Agreement. If any provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about this Agreement should be directed to info@gaisb.org.
